The purpose behind this project is to further enhance the connection between art and the observer as the audience of an artist is only privy to the completed piece – the final outcome of much thought, work, imagination, research and emotion of the artist who pours themselves into each piece they create and generally a simple headshot of the artist themselves. Most often the viewer is not able witness the intimacy the artist has with and within the creative space of their studio. I wish this project to bridge a gap – to further build upon the intimacy and connection that art creates amongst its admirers, as well as the connection between the audience and the artist. I believe that artists wish to connect to their audience on a deeper level – inspiring thought, imagination and emotion – and that the audience wishes to connect to the artist because in some way forming such a connection through their work stirs up their own emotional responses and the uniquely human desire to create something beautiful that will leave their impression on the world. It is my hope that my project will further enhance that connection, that will allow the audience to glimpse into the world of an artist and in some small way be witness to the blood, sweat and tears that are an integral part of each work of art that is shared.
